Visitors were treated to live music and a scrumptious afternoon tea last week when Safe Haven Dementia Centre laid on its “Easter Extravaganza” event.
The event, which was held on the afternoon of Thursday, April 2, 2015, was attended by a number of clients and friends of Safe Haven, along with a group of residents from nearby nursing home, Catherine Court, who were accompanied by their carers.
To kick off proceedings, West End performer, Nik Stoter, took to the stage and belted out some classics songs from the 1940s and 1950s, which were very well received – so much so that it didn’t take long until he was joined in the spotlight by one of our audience members for an impromptu duet!
Following on from the entertainment, we served a wonderful Easter tea, which consisted of sandwiches, crisps and snacks, hot cross buns, a chocolate Easter cake, tea, coffee, soft drinks and wine (just the one, though!), which was enjoyed by all.
With Easter Parade, starring Judy Garland and Fred Astaire, playing in the background on our state-of-the-art projection system, it soon became time to bring the curtain down on our afternoon of fun. As a memento of the day, we were pleased to hand out a decorative Easter egg gift to all who attended, and we look forward to seeing them all again soon.
